At Crafty, we like to make things. Well, actually, we like to teach kids the skills to make things. Your kids will learn about tools and textures and materials. They'll learn techniques and skills that they can take home with them. They'll develop a sense for how everyday things are made....and probably think up ways they can design and make those things themselves!
Tools are invaluable to creativity, and we will teach your kids how to use tools to get creative! When they're doing pottery, they'll carve, and roll, and apply texture with tools. When they're making paper, they'll blend, and cut, and press with tools. Sure, we'll use paintbrushes and pencils too, but it's the experience of actually creating an object with their hands and with tools that's the fun part!
We believe in the value of exploration at Crafty. We always encourage our students to try new things with new mediums, or even to combine them. The projects we come up with are largely student-driven and we try to help our students trouble-shoot as they design and build their creations. Everyone tries out every medium, but if there are things they want to try more of they totally can!
So, have your kids come and get crafty with us! You never know....you might have a designer on your hands!
