Crafty In-School Programs

A Crafty In-School Program is a wonderful way for your students to experience a fun and unique art project with a professional artist and art instructor!  They'll learn to make objects they can use or display with materials that the earth produces naturally, like clay, wool or felt.

Renée Sala, Director of Crafty School of Art, has designed each lesson so that the kids will not only gain new skills and techniques with a unique art medium, but will learn how the sheep gets sheared so that we have wool or how a kiln changes clay into ceramic!

Each class will experience a fun and educational lesson in the medium chosen, and each child will create a unique project to take home or participate in a school-wide collaboration that will last as a legacy for years to come!

Renée is an experienced artist and a professional art teacher.  You will find her programs to be educational, level-specific, organised and fun for everyone!

Please click on a Program Page in the drop-down menu for complete information regarding projects, time, and cost.

Renée Sala painted this beautiful Oak Tree in a long empty hallway of Oaklands Elementary School to celebrate their Centennial.  All of the students created clay tiles with her, and then Renée adorned the leaves with the children's work to create a fabulous collaboration.

This huge canvas was painted using the children themselves as templates for abstraction.  We learned about colour and pattern, collaboration and community.  After hanging in the hallway for a short time, the mural was divided and mounted onto boards so that each child could take home a piece of the creation.
