Crafty Team

The Crafty Team

Crafty started out as a team of one...that's me, Renée Sala, Director and Instructor!  Lately, things have been getting busier at Crafty, and I've gladly added a few key players to my team to help with things in the Studio. But mostly, it's just little ol' me working away and coming up with new and unique ways to connect the kids in our community with an art education.

About Me:

I've been a Crafty Kid my entire life.  My Mom was a potter (now a painter), and my Dad is a builder and a painter.  My brother is a writer, my Gramma knit, my Grampa was a wood-worker, and I enjoy all of the above and more!  I've always been encouraged to create and try things myself.

I've got a Diploma in Applied Arts & Sciences from V.I.U. and a Diploma in Visual Arts from Camosun College.  I've been teaching kids and adults about art for over 10 years, and spent 3 years teaching ESL in South Korea.  I've offered programs to over 25 schools in the Greater Victoria area since 2009. I've literally been Crafty with thousands of kids over the past 6 years since Crafty opened!

I am passionate about finding sparks.  Everyone's got them, and kids are really in tune to theirs!  Creating a love and understanding of art in connection to the world is my goal, and I'm determined to present that idea to kids of all ages.
